Club Property

The Penguin Club owns a small number of items that can be borrowed by members, free of charge, for use on productions. These items are generally kept by members of the committee.  If you would like to use any of these items, please e-mail the appropriate address at least a week beforehand to arrange a time for collection (and please don’t forget to arrange to return it after use!).

Teabreak kit: Teabags, instant coffee, sugar, cafetière and ground coffee in a handy carry bag.

E-mail teabreak@penguinclub.org.uk

Travelling crockery: Most theatres are equipped with mugs and tea-making facilities, but occasionally we find ourselves working in a venue where these aren’t provided. The Club has a stash of mugs and an electric kettle in a crate that you can borrow in times of need.

E-mail crockery@penguinclub.org.uk

Tag gun: Very useful if you need to join or shorten legs or other stage cloths. Comes with plastic tags in both black and white.

The Annual General Meeting is a great opportunity to find out about how the club is doing, vote on any issues which may come up and elect a new committee for the coming year. The committee consists of the Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary, plus five Ordinary Members, and all eight positions will be due for election. More information about the committee roles can be found at
penguinclub.org.uk/committee-roles. If you would like to stand for election, you will need to find two penguins to act as proposer and seconder, and email James (secretary [at] penguinclub [dot] org [dot] uk) with their details, and the position you are standing for, by Saturday 5th July. If you have any questions about what is involved in being on the committee, or how the election process works, please get in touch.

Every member of the club is able to add items to the agenda to discuss at the AGM. All you need to do is email the secretary ( secretary [at] penguinclub [dot] org [dot] uk) with details of the agenda items, and support of another member, by the end of Saturday 5th July.
